The End
Chad Glass 09/27/12

Fire falls past the clouds and rains on my parade
Thinking to myself I say "there goes the plans I've made"
What happens when you see your life all turn into dust?
Try to save what's left of your heart, if indeed that's what's just
The fire continues falling so deep within our Earth,
The nations split apart revealing all of what we're worth.
Though we try and band together, what's the use in this?
We've betrayed the Son of man, when on His cheek we put a kiss

For thirty pieces of security, we fall victim to the stars
The ones we watched in arrogance, to say we know what you are
Though it seemed so secure and simple, it was all just a lie
Conjured by the darkness, like the "wisdom" on a vine
This tragedy that finds its way past our mental state
Is the chaos and the cancer and the ending of our fate
The cracks in our foundations are the ignorance of Him
Jesus Christ the saving one, the forgiver of our sin
Escaping the Darkness
Chad Glass 09/10/12
Why does my heart desire evil?
Why, from darkness, shall it want?
From the shadows creep my craving,
Bellows echo for a daunt.
Sweet injection, hollow heart,
Lost connection, ripped apart.
Repulsed reflection, poisoned dart,
Redemption, chaos, relief, restart.

Reverse all of my magnetic poles,
Your blood has filled my spirit's holes,
Boundary, such a distant thought,
By love I fall, by strength I'm caught.
Meet me where the river bends,
Where my heart and I will make amends,
Flesh and spirit - united again,
Freedom from this wretched sin.
War of Time
Chad Glass 11-11-11

Once on an ancient and an ever dark night
the maiden of Nature was taken as wife
by the corrupt and evil rival of mine
with knees that quake I dare speak his name, "Time"
"Time" as we know so well, soon became father
The element Shadow, his angry toddler
And Nature (now mother) seemly won't bother
For the evil she bore, grew into slaughter
His wrath unstoppable, his middle name: war
He feeds on the fear of the weak and the poor
He creeps and he hides, for he can't stand the light
He gathered and built his very home out of night
With nails of a coffin he constructs this place
The great field of death built for our race
The destruction of man, is solely his plan
He counts the grains of the hour glass sand
Can any man stand to this depraved tyrant?
Or must our lips be in one constant silence?
There is one we may call, part man and part star
He shines with brilliance as the sun in the dark
He is mother nature's most precious treasure
Filled with bravery and joy without measure
Though the evil shadow beast his brother be
Not even he can stop the light within me
I, the star-man, will take the shadow's last breath
I will render the ancient grave its own death
My sword forged of beams from the midnight moon stream
Will relieve our race of their terror filled screams
My war cry strikes fear in his domain of night
My sonic joy fills his lair with immense light
I laugh when his fright makes his own stomach sound
He is trapped by my glow, by shine he is bound
The closer I trod to his throne of disease
The weaker my light seems to blaze around me
We feel resistance like opposite magnets
Knowing the end will be much more than tragic
Here we both stand, Starlight over the darkness
One of us soon to be no more than carcass
He, with his blunt axe of fear, disease and death
And I with my moon blade spread across his chest
There's no doubt in our heart's of sure victory
Though how deadly wrong the incorrect shall be
The unspoken prize will be the reign of earth
While failure results in a banishment curse
With weapons held high, we begin our assault
First deadly strikes, that's by other weapon caught
Rage fuels us both, truly opposites we are
Though the war was not just ours as we had thought
Father Time showed his face, giving Shadow speed
While Mother Nature attended to my needs
Though Shadow's strikes were so fast they were not seen
A boulder was thrust in his way to block me
After a few moments my blood had been shed
Though far was I from a cask built for the dead
My retaliation, it was fierce and prime
However, no match for the stopping of time
An odd event occurs when time is corrupt
Vibrations of light also become held up
My light was no use, I was mortal again
Through darkness crept Shadow, within his dark den
Nature's barricade was my one final hope
While I sat secure of my death from Shadow
How was it that I was a light no longer?
No time, no movement, darkness is made stronger
If light is vibrations, and movement time takes
Then my light was stolen for Father Time's sake
He wishes my death for his wife that has left
And birthed me, a son, whom she never regrets
And let it be known, I was born from the Sun
Nature and the Sun birthed a passionate one
For that's precisely who I am and became
And I am called VY Canis Majoris by name
Nature let out a seemingly useless cry
That ran a shiver down Father Time's spine
Perplexed as to the exact reason why
I'd soon fathom the shudder of Father Time
The sound was absolute silence defined
With the melting of Shadow and of Father Time
Nature was safe from the rays that befell
And I, as I laid in my Mother's shell
My father the Sun had arrived for the cry
That Nature had made when Time had stolen light
His fervor scorched the very substance of time
Then gave me as gift the continuum's line
My occupation is now defined by my light
I choose the moments between day and night
My rule had been set that day, I as supreme
Peace was restored to father, mother, and me.
Growing Up
Chad Glass 12/07/10
Growing up is still a challenge, for such a boy as me.
My best memories were of childhood so I figure, why leave?
Though things take place to make me older, my life has not been lived.
I shall mature and become great, until the last breath that God gives.
The things that once made sense, are now beginning to change,
it's a bitter sweet sorrow, That I barely can contain
I knew that eventually, time would over take
And I would gently slip, into my newly found place.
I can only hope this place, is absent from mediocrity
Something my mind despises, something not for me
My life was made for more than to live by average means
though I pray my life be lowly, and lift up a King to kings
I am getting older and my skin begins show this
I know that I'm still loved, God and family still give notice
But the painful question still lingers, Did I make a difference?
Has my life, been a life that was well worth it, was my life a life well spent?
All the money in the world, every currency of every kind
is now a fleeting memory, is now destruction by design
possessions now are nothing, but a bitter waste of time
love lost is life lost, a little at a time
I can only give the wisdom, that my God has given me
The wisdom of a poor man, a man of mediocrity.
Though my soul cries out to heaven, I have been a waste!
My friends and family surround me, giving me a different case
My memory is jogged, of the amazing life I lived
I feel the love of a higher love, is this my wife, my kids?
Laying in the hospice room, my time only to decay,
The love of God is waiting, and He not so far away.
Modern Romance
by Chad Glass

All the pretty guys
Woo their woman with their lies
And the good guys get stuck out on the side lines

Where they meet the pretty girls
Who've been lied to by the world
And those good guys decide to turn the times

He will ask this beauty out
And she'll turn him down without a doubt
But his consistency she under estimates

Because he has something real
and that's what she's dying to feel
if she could only see his heart past his face

His goofy little face
Could seem like a disgrace
If he didn't wear his heart out on his sleeve

In the despair of her romance
she decides he's worth a chance
that, and the fact that he won't leave

Their spark is undeniable
their relationship, undefinable
it truly is beauty and the beast

it's all thanks to those pretty guys
who broke her heart with their lies
because without you, these couples would never meet

There's plenty of living proof
some girls don't pick a six-pack over truth
though that's totally the way it often seems

Just wait for God and His timing
And when it feels like your heart is grinding
Just know you're closer to the woman of your dreams
Oh Heart!
by Chad Glass 07/17/10
Oh heart! with the depths of the oceans in you, and the courage of madmen with fearless rage sleeps within, and the softness of a dove for the romancing of the earth and of it's queens. Fire cannot burn as hot as your passion and ice not as cold as your lament.
The weight of the world can rest on you and be not broken. Yet you break with a single tear, and shatter with the pain of love. Let the raging winds blow, for what is that to the heart of a man?
Generation, listen to the groaning of your elders, and the sorrows of the past. Drink in the wisdom as if it were pleasant drink, that you may be spared the ruins of heartbreak. Take not the path leading again to empty anguish, but progress on to the place of true devotion.
For one certainly may fall into love! By that there is no statement more true. For its ways seem faithful, but too soon it calls for us, and the depths of our hearts cry out in mourning, that it may be fulfilled. But by its works we are destroyed for lack of its timing.
True love casts out fear, leaving its opposite to breeding upon the hearing of the deaf. The timing is from above, in which we must abide. Thus, let us listen closely that we may not be broken. Let the scarlet stream forever lead us to our destinations, and the calling from the north guide us on.
Oh heart, don't awaken love until it pleases.
Winter
by Chad Glass 12/27/10

As the flakes fall down,
The winds come around,
and offer their quiet sighs.
When will the children,
come out to play with us?
When will they come outside?
Snow men to build,
angels to mold,
future memories to make.
All of this,
dances in the mind,
Of a lonely young snowflake.
The trees shiver,
to loose themselves,
from the frigid over coat.
All of nature,
follows in this act,
as it seems quick antidote.
Even the birds,
God kept past their time,
"no matter how long it takes!"
To see a child's,
first steps in the snow,
and the joy upon his face.
Looking out the window,
his hands as cold as ice,
they count the seconds to his return.
Pondering and thinking,
inside their heads,
all the things he'll try and learn.
As they watch,
God does tell,
of all the time that has passed by.
and all those poor,
lonely little snow flakes,
now begin to cry.
Please,
say farewell to the child,
winter is far from its start.
The months have passed,
nothing's to last,
here comes the warmth of March.
The trees wave good bye,
with branches of buds,
They didn't even notice had come.
To the melting friends,
they'll see again,
when the last bell of autumn has rung.
A moral to this story,
this simple idea,
I hope you'll take and send.
I hope you remember,
God's plan is still eternal,
even though His seasons end.
Another
by Chad Glass 01-08-12
Another year, another promise
another joke, another sonnet
another laugh, so loud and strong
people look to see what's wrong
Another time for poker faces
another chance for hiding places
another escape from staring eyes
another quite exceptional time
Another day, another week
another tear runs down a cheek
another time when we can't speak
we laugh so hard we only sqeak
another place to make romance
another silent little dance
another song just in our heads
another fight, we hug instead
another precious memory made
another one that never fades
another man brought to one knee
by the heart of his lady
another ring upon a hand
another boy becomes a man
another girl becomes a wife
a pair of hearts become one life
by Chadwick N. Glass
From my heart to yours, I hope these words bless you.
